Radio Heatwave is Singapore’s first ever campus radio station established in 1992. We are the only campus radio station broadcasting in English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil.
The station is run entirely by third-year mass communication students, namely us – the contributors to this blog. We do everything from hosting our own shows to emceeing external events to marketing and advertising for the station. In short we do everything that go into running a real radio station.
Presently, we reach about 15,000 students and staff members using a simple yet professional audio presentation system. You can also hear some of our work being broadcast on national radio stations such as Lush 99.5 FM.

Our radio shows cover a wide range of topics: from lifestyle to personality to niche subjects. Some examples: our resident jokers Mal and Kenneth host the jovial Morning Madness daily, sharing interesting facts and trivia with our listeners; and one of our longest-running shows is Localised, hosted by our very own Faye, and it features a lot of guest appearances by local bands and musicians.
